The woreda has been able to attract various investors for the past few years. In the district, there are about 20 active investors who have leased land and started investing in the area.
MOREAlthough the district started investments recently; with our welcoming nature, many investors took the initiative to launch their investments in our district. currently there are 35 projects that have launched their building process and are on their way to open their services to the public.
Motta town industry and investment was established in 2011 E.C, the availability of many opportunities in the area we were able attract many investors into launching 108 projects where 60 Projects are manufacturing projects; 5 projects are already in production, and 4 other projects are installing machineries, and the rest are in pre production stage.
we have an increasing amount of demand from investors in the wereda and also in the town where there is an unlimited supply of raw materials. we also have many projects in manufacturing sectors, agro- processing production, chemical industry, textile & tannery and many others...
The wereda has an
altitude range of 1290-4036 m above sea level. It consists of 44 rural and 6
urban Kebeles. The total land area is 138,336 hectares; the land use pattern is
classified into five categories:

bushes and forest land around homestead, 12.69% uninhabitable area (kola), 0.14% settlement areas.
Motta is located 370 Km Northwest of Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia, and 120 km Southwest of Bahir Dar city, the capital of the Amhara, and 196 km from Debre Markos, the capital of east Gojam Zone.
Hulet Eju Enese
woreda has a diversified and favourable climate, fertile soils, and high way
road access that connects to Bahir Dar and Addis Abeba. It has also many road
outlets to the adjacent districts. Additionally, the landscape is majorly
plateau and suitable for agriculture. It has oceanic climate that exists in
elevated portions of the world that are within either the tropics or
subtropics, though it is typically found in mountainous locations in some
tropical countries. Agro ecologically, the district is classified as (12):

The annual
rainfall ranges from 997mm to 1203mm, and 1100mm is the mean annual rainfall.
It is unimodal falling during “Kiremt” (June-September), however, there is
small rain falling between April and May (“Belge”). The mean annual temperature
is 18.5°C and the range is from mean minimum of 10°C to mean maximum 27°C.
Based on the 2007 national census conducted by the Central Statistical Agency of Ethiopia (CSA), Hulet Eju Enesse woreda has a total population of 275,638 an increase of 38.27 % over the 1994 census, of which 137,382 are men and 138,256 are women. From the total population only 11% are urban inhabitants. With an area of 1,496.69 square kilo-meter, Hulet Eju Enese has a population density of 184.17 persons per square kilometre, which is greater than the zone average of 153.8 persons per km2. 95.3% of the inhabitants practiced Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity, and the remaining practice Islam religion.
Hulet Eju Enese is majorly an agrarian district where agriculture plays a vital role for its economy. In the productivity of agriculture, land is the most important valuable natural resource. Crop and animal husbandry (mixed farming system) are the main agricultural practices in the district.
