The Industry Village in Motta is 27 hectares large, were freed from third party and transferred to investors. The village has been fully occupied and there are 37 companies that have entered the industry village and are at different stages of completion with only 5.4% currently operational.
Out of the manufacturing companies registered in the village, 40% are in the agro-processing sector, while the rest are focused in other manufacturing sectors such as textile, leather, construction material, chemicals, etc.
Motta is a town in North West Ethiopia. Located in Misraq Gojjam Zone of the Amhara Region. There is a federal highway that links Bahir Dar-Dejen-Addis Abeba that passes through Motta town.
Motta is located 370 Km Northwest of Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia, and 120 km Southwest of Bahir Dar city, the capital of the Amhara, and 196 km from Debre Markos, the capital of east Gojam Zone.
Motta also has a good road access with its adjacent districts like to Hulet Eju Enese, Sede, Enebese sermidir, Enargi Enawega, Goncha and Biwugn.
It has an elevation of approximately 2,487 m above sea level. It has a self-administration system, and is located at the center of Hulet Eju Enese district and a seat for the district as well.
